Explore Electronic Imaging's Future at the 29th Annual Symposium
2017 IS&T International Symposium on Electronic Imaging (EI 2017)
Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport
Burlingame, California
29 January- 2 February 2017
Imaging is integral to the human experience—from personal photographs taken every day with mobile devices to autonomous imaging algorithms in self-driving cars to the mixed reality technology that underlies new forms of entertainment. Come to EI 2017, where leading researchers, developers, and entrepreneurs from around the world discuss, learn about, and share the latest imaging developments from industry and academia.
The 2017 event features 18 technical conferences covering all aspects of electronic imaging, including
- Augmented and virtual reality displays and processing
- Autonomous machine imaging algorithms
- Computational and digital photography
- Human vision, color, perception, and cognition
- Image and video processing and communication via the web
- Mobile imaging
- Imaging sensors
- Image quality
- Display and hardcopy
- Media security and forensics
- Machine vision and machine learning
- Applications of these technologies in communications, security, transportation, education, space exploration, medicine, entertainment, and more
Attendees choose from among short courses taught by recognized experts, illustrious plenary speakers from industry and academia, and technical conference sessions offered throughout the week.
Onsite Highlights
In complement to the conference sessions, EI 2017 offers joint sessions that explore the synergies between several of the conferences.
Special sessions are being planned (e.g., computer vision applications in sports and imaging for surveillance) that explore new technology topics not currently within the scope of the established conferences.
IS&T and the EI Symposium community give the EI Scientist of the Year award each year to a member of the electronic imaging community who has demonstrated excellence and commanded the respect of his/her peers by making significant and substantial contributions to the field via research, publications, or service.
EI 2017 includes social events such as the Women in Electronic Imaging Luncheon, opportunities for students to meet with interested industry representatives, and conference special events such as the Stereoscopic Theater Session showing examples of the best international 3D productions. Technology demonstrations by industry and academia participants and a focused exhibition showcase the latest developments driving next generation electronic imaging products.
Technical courses taught by experts from academia and industry are offered to augment the main technical program of symposium plenary, conference keynote, and oral and interactive (poster) presentations.
