These proceedings cover the first PICS meeting, replacing the Society's Annual conference and focus on image quality, digital photography and silver halide technology. The quality papers reexamine the industry's view of image quality, and examine what measures and metrics apply to the evaluation of digitally produced images and how these relate to those employed in silver halide imaging. In addition, the digital photography papers cover the latest developments in this field.
