DIGITIZING TO INTERNATIONAL IMAGING PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

OVERVIEW

A topical meeting series of four seminars with an overarching focus on international standards and guidelines for cultural heritage imaging. The program will be released and registration will open the week of February 5; the first session takes place February 22—Save the Date!

The topical meetings will be held three weeks apart, twice before and twice after, IS&T’s annual Archiving conference (April 9-12, 2024 in Washington, DC). Each session includes at least three hours of content and ample time for Q+A, open discussions, and networking with colleagues around the world.

The 2024 series begins with talks on the application and impacts of international imaging standards and guidelines. The next three sessions have the following themes: Management, Access, and Preservation of Image Files; Digitization Program Development and Management; and Underrepresented Voices and Special Projects in Cultural Heritage Digitization. There will be an emphasis on how standards in digitization impact each of these topics.
