LIM 2022: Display Science

London Imaging Meeting 2022

The London Imaging Meeting (LIM) is a yearly topic-based conference focused on the future of imaging science. The theme for 2022 is Display Science.

Dates: 6-8 July 2022
Venue: Institute of Physics, London

The conference is planned as an in-person event, and we expect presenters to attend in person, assuming it is possible and safe for them to do so. Should this not be the case, we will allow for remote attendance on a case-by-case basis.

We are interested in methods intended to improve the performance or bring new capabilities to electronic displays, from flat panel displays to VR/AR headsets. The conference is designed to promote interaction between the imaging science and deep learning communities. It includes research, keynote, and focus presentations.

The educational program (courses/workshops) is on 6 July; technical talks are held 7-8 July.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited, to:

  • AR, VR, and MR systems
  • Novel hyper-realistic displays
  • Holographic displays
  • Computational displays
  • Foveated displays and rendering
  • Wide color gamut
  • High frame rate
  • High dynamic range
  • Display-dependent image quality
  • Automotive and specialized displays
  • Display bandwidth reduction techniques
  • Display characterization and calibration
  • Perception issues in displays
  • Perception in immersive display technologies

In their papers, we encourage authors to present methods and solutions that cross the boundaries of disciplines, for example, the methods that use new or existing models of the visual system to improve display processing or visual quality, or the papers which propose new displays to study visual perception. We welcome the participation of scientists and engineers from academia and industry, and strongly encourage contributions from graduate students. Submission Info for Authors

As in past years, the 2022 event will feature two keynote and five focal talks, given by world-renown experts in imaging and display science.
