CIC26 Call for Workshops

CIC26 workshops will take place the afternoon of Tuesday November 13 and are scheduled for 2 hours.

Submissions for workshop topics should be sent to Please put “CIC26 Workshop Proposal” and your last name in the subject line. Topics should be of timely interest and might include subjects related to AR/VR/MR (augmented, virtual, and mixed reality); temporal color perception; material appearance; 360°capture; gaming; cinema; cultural heritage applications; medical applications; or machine learning, for example.

Please include a general description of the topic to be covered, the format of the workshop (i.e., short papers with discussion; panel; hands-on; etc.), and list of confirmed or potential speakers/moderators.

Submissions are due April 15, 2018.

How to Submit / Note Journal Options

Authors have the option to submit either a traditional conference paper, which will be published in the proceedings only, or a paper that will also appear in the Journal of Imaging Science and Technology (JIST) or the online Open Access Journal of Perceptual Imaging (JPI).. Papers submitted via either option will be considered for CIC presentation.

How to Submit Conference Paper

Original work on relevant topics will be considered by the CIC Review Committee when submitted in the form of a 4-6 page draft paper by April 15, 2018. Papers should represent unpublished work, provide a clear indication of originality, contain at least preliminary results, and include references to prior work.

Electronic submissions are preferred. If you cannot submit your paper electronically, contact

A double-blind review process is used to select papers based on criteria including technical soundness and novelty. Final decisions on acceptance and presentation format (oral or interactive paper) are at the discretion of the Technical Program Committee. Notices of acceptance will be sent out in late June. Upon acceptance, instructions are provided for the preparation of the full paper, which is published in the conference proceedings.

Final papers are due September 7, 2018. Email submission inquiries to

How to submit a Journal-first (JIST-first or JPI-first) Paper

Journal papers differ from conference papers in that they meet the standards of a peer-reviewed journal in terms of scope, originality, relevance of topic, completeness of background and references to prior work, completeness of results and discussion, and quality of language. Refer to JIST-first Author Guidelines or JPI-first Author Guidelines.

Complete JIST or JPI CIC26 2018 papers are due by April 15, 2018 and are fast-tracked for review. Accepted papers are published in the journal, appear in the CIC proceedings as reprints, and are presented at CIC within the technical papers program. Decisions and requests for revision, if required, will be sent to authors by the end of June. Revisions of provisionally accepted papers are due within 10 days following the decision letter. Upon acceptance of papers, first authors will register for CIC, per individual journal requirements. Rejected papers will be reviewed for possible inclusion in CIC using the conference submission criteria.

Note: JIST is SCI/EI-indexed. JPI is Open Access.
