Archiving 2011 Call Released Salt Lake City hosts Archiving 2011, May 16 to 19. General Chairs Wayne Metcalfe, FamilySearch, and Kate Zwaard, US Government Printing Office, have released the Call for Papers, with an October 17, 2010 submission deadline.

Historic Conference Calendar

History

Inaugurated in 1993 and co-sponsored by IS&T and the Society for Information Display (SID), the first fourteen Color Imaging Conferences took place in Scottsdale, Arizona. Held annually, usually in November, the single-track meeting now moves to various cities in the US. In 2010, the name of the meeting was altered slightly to better reflect the synergy between color and imaging, as well as the breadth of the conference contents. The meeting is now the Color and Imaging Conference.

Scope

CIC is the premier annual technical gathering for scientists, technologists, and engineers working in the areas of color science and systems, and their application to color imaging. Participants represent disciplines ranging from psychophysics, optical physics, image processing, color science to graphic arts, systems engineering, and hardware and software development. While a broad mix of professional interests is the hallmark of these conferences, the focus is color.

CICs traditionally offer two days of short courses followed by three days of technical sessions that include three keynotes, an evening lecture, and a vibrant interactive papers session. An endearing symbol of the meeting is the Cactus Award, given each year to the author(s) of the best interactive paper presentation.
