Itek Award

Basis of Selection

This award recognizes an outstanding original student publication in the field of imaging science or engineering published in a Society journal (JIST, JPI, or JEI) during the preceding calendar year. The paper must comprise a significant contribution in the field of imaging and must conform to high standards of technical and scientific writing.

Note: Prior to the 2009 award cycle, this award was not restricted to IS&T journals.

Eligibility

Both IS&T members and non-members are eligible. The lead author must have been a full- or part-time student in an accredited institution at the time the work presented in the paper was performed.

Frequency of Award

Not more than one per year; co-authors are named as joint recipients.

Form of Award

An engraved plaque and $500 cash prize for the primary author and certificates for co-authors are given to recipients of this award.
